Hello friends,
If you're receiving this email, it's because you donated to the 2025 EDSBS Charity Bowl in support of New American Pathways. We are Spencer Hall and Holly Anderson, the creators of the Charity Bowl, which you probably also know, but just in case. We don't usually communicate with you in this way between Bowl weeks, but there's a special opportunity coming up to give another boost to our friends in the refugee resettlement community here in Atlanta.
Are we asking you for money? Not exactly!
Do you need to keep reading if you're not located within a reasonable distance of South Carolina, or possibly a Marshall fan? You do not! Have a great day, and beat the hell out of your rivals this weekend, whoever they are.
The rest of you, read on:
We're writing to you today because New American Pathways has another big event coming up, called "Red, White, and Do!" This is the time of year where New AP does most of their "traditional" fundraising, including a gala celebration at Zoo Atlanta, but as Charity Bowl donors y'all know better than anyone ... we (and you) like to run the score up when we can.
So! Why are we bringing this up?
Besides Channel 6, we also serve as half the hosting crew for the Shutdown Fullcast, an unkillable monster of a college football podcast, and next week we're doing our first and only live show of the season: Wednesday night, October 29th, we'll be in Myrtle Beach in support of our longtime sponsors, Homefield Apparel, as part of their Can't Miss Kickoff Tour Presented by Modelo. And in recognition of our longtime partnership, and because they're just good folks in general, Homefield has offered to donate 10% of revenue from tickets purchased by Charity Bowl donors to New AP.
If you can't make it down to the South Carolina coast on a school night, well, we understand. Life happens. If you'd like to join us for the show, you can get your tickets here, and after you click "purchase" you should see a menu asking where you heard about the event. Select "Charity Bowl" and your ticket will automatically be tallied for the donation. If you already have your tickets, because in VERY typical Fullcast fashion we didn't think of this idea until the last possible minute, we've got you covered as well – simply reply to this email and let us know what name(s) your tickets are under, and we'll make sure to count you.
We'll also be attending Coastal Carolina's primetime game against Marshall on Thursday night, so if you're in Conway, be sure to come say howdy.
If none of this applies to you at all because you live in Michigan or even further away, but you still read this far: Hello, sorry to interrupt your day, and again we hope your team is having the season it deserves against your less charitable rivals. We don't plan on making a habit of disturbing the serenity of your inboxes, but wanted to get the word out to as many people as possible, in the name of giving New AP a nice surprise offseason donation here in a couple weeks.
Thanks again for helping us smash that donations record this year, and we'll see you in the spring.
